Non-Profit Business Philosophy: Client Awareness and Relationship Emphasis (CARE)

CARE is a new paradigm for working with non-engineering organizations such as public schools, United Way companies and churches. Bennett Engineering, Incorporated (BEI) spends the time needed to understand the unique needs of the non-technical client. The traditional engineering paradigm leads to clients paying too much for functionality that does not really meet their needs and are unable to maintain the system after the service provider is gone. BEI uses a four-step process that keeps the customer integrally involved in the development process to ensure the final product meets their needs and they can use it after delivery. The two BEI partners have worked in educational/helping environments and based upon years of experience ensure that the solutions provided reflect the expressed needs of the client and all needed training or support is gladly delivered during and after delivery of the product or service.

Software Capability: Business and Web Based Applications

Business Application: BEI develops database programs using M/S Access, SQL and Visual Basic development tools primarily. Our staff and consulting partners have over ten years experience each as programmers for major companies in the Tulsa area before joining the BEI team. All of our database programmers have worked with BEI for several years and are well trained in our coding standards and the CARE philosophy of business.

Web Design: BEI develops Web Sites and database driven applications using Cold Fusion, ASP and Java Servlets primarily. Our lead Web developer has worked with BEI for over a year while in graduate school at TU and joined our firm in June of 2001 as an employee. The experience of our staff allows BEI to develop Web applications that are as flashy or practical as desired. But most importantly, the applications delivered can be maintained easily, by a client that is not highly skilled technically. The CARE paradigm requires that, BEI train and support, the client well on any Web product we deliver.

Information Technology (IT) Consultation and Implementation:

During our six years in business BEI has provided IT consultation with numerous non-profit, educational institutions and governmental agencies ranging from start-up, upgrade or tweaking their systems. We understand that public schools, in particular, have limited resources requiring efficient planning and implementation of their IT plan. The CARE approach is integral to the success of our client because technology solutions are often not a top priority in the training or experience of helping professionals.
